If you are fresh in using metal detector, we highly recommended you: 1. Set the sensitivity to a low level in the event of false signals. Always begin at a reduced sensitivity level when using. After you become familiar with the detector, you may try it at full sensitivity. 2. This detector is for outdoor use only. Do not use indoors. Many home appliances can emit electromagnetic wave, and will interfere with the detector. For indoor testing, turn the sensitivity down and keep the search coil away from facilities such as microwave ovens, computers and TVs. If your detector beeps erratically, turn off the electronic appliances and lights, especially thosewith dimmer switches. 3. Read this manual. Most importantly,review the BASIC OPERATION. ZAP is available in DISC and NOTCH modes. It is used to eliminate a known metal target. Sweep an unwanted metal sample over the search coil. The detector will sound a tone and display a bar below the corresponding target. Then press ZAP. After that, the detector will not respond to this known metal type during the detection. To recover the swept target, press ZAP again before other metal is detected. Note: 25, 50, and 1$ can’t be eliminated by ZAP. ZAP can only ignore one target. You have to recover any ignored target before ZAP new one. To recover the ignoredtarget: In DISC mode, simply press + to recover the ignored target.
