Q: How to separate top pieces to clean? My cat peed into the seam and I can't pull the two top pieces apart to clean it up!.

When I first assembled, it was hard to pull two top pieces apart, I finally did, and since that time, I don't 'lock' the top I don't put a lot of litter in like I used to fill other boxes, and my kitty hasn't leaked thru yet, I did put piddle pads underneath the box, just in case, but knock on wood, good so far Try pulling the top off by the front entrance, once that's loose, the back should be easier Once successful, makes for very ez cleaning

Q: How to separate Part A from Part B? I wanted to try this box without the hood part. Only got one side of A&B apart

Hello, try, taking the whole thing apart, so that way you'll have the two lower pieces in your hands and its all removed from the pan. More pulling power that way.... However, I decided to leave the top on, and just kinda fastened the roof in the back, did not lock in the front above entrance That way, they still have their "privacy" but easy to clean I really love this litterpan, hope it works for you too

Q: What type of plastic is used for the cover and the base?

All I know is this box isn't made of that brittle plastic like some boxes. I've been very pleased with this product, it works for this household better than any other boxes we've purchased over the years

Q: Why does it have big USA patents on front but country of origin is china?

I don’t know, perhaps the design is patented. That said, I regret buying this litter box. My male cat pees standing up and it gets between the layers and I have to take it apart and clean it all the time. I’m really disappointed in it.
