Incredible Precision, Speed, and Versatility – Worth Every Penny!
I couldn’t be more impressed with the LONGER Ray5 5W Laser Engraver. As someone who works on both hobby and professional engraving projects, this machine exceeded all my expectations. The engraving precision is phenomenal—down to 0.01mm accuracy with a laser spot size of just 0.08mm. My designs come out crisp and detailed, even on challenging materials like stainless steel and acrylic.Setup was a breeze thanks to the clear instructions and included tools. Within an hour, I was already working on my first project. The large 400x400mm work area gives me plenty of room for creativity, and I love the flexibility of working offline using the TF card or Wi-Fi. I’ve been using it with LightBurn and the integration is seamless.Another standout feature is the safety—emergency stop, motion detection, and even goggles are included. It’s clear the company put thought into both performance and user protection.Whether you’re cutting wood or engraving glass, this machine handles it all beautifully. I would absolutely recommend the Ray5 to anyone serious about laser engraving or cutting. It’s reliable, powerful, and backed by excellent support. A solid 5-star product!

Longer Ray5 is a great engraver!!!
I bought the Longer Laser Engraver Ray 5 10W about a year ago because I make Kydex holsters, knife sheaths and custom knives and I wanted to engrave my company logo on to the items I make. This engraver has been great with engraving the projects that I work on. So far the materials that I engraved to date have been Kydex, wood, high carbon steel, stainless steel water bottles, and aluminum. Recently I was having some issues with my engraver and the customer service at Longer were a huge help and got my issue resolved. In this day and age where there are many alternatives, a company like Longer that works hard to help their customers with their problems is priceless. I will definitely buy another engraver from Longer. I know at some point I will need a 20-30W laser to engrave Stainless Steel knives and I will be coming back to Longer for it!!!! Thanks Guys!!!!

Great results for the price and laser power delivered
The media could not be loaded. This is a solid entry-level UV laser engraver for beginners who want to get into laser engraving without spending a fortune. The LONGER 5W strikes a great balance between affordability, ease of use, and decent engraving quality.Pros:- Good engraver for beginners – super approachable even if you've never used one before.- Easy setup: took me under an hour from unboxing to first burn.- the 400x400mm workspace is generous and perfect for small to mid-sized projects.- Compatible with Lightburn, which makes design and control smooth.- Engraves wood and acrylic cleanly, and with proper settings can cut through thin plywood.- Come with a free safety goggle, must have to safe laser operation.- Comes with helpful extras: a microSD card, free data cable, and a touchscreen that supports offline use - this is a huge plus if you don’t want to tether it to your computer.- Acceptable noise level: the fan and movement sound are noticeable but not disruptive. I can comfortably run it in my garage.Cons- Doesn’t engrave on metal directly. You’ll need to spray a black coating or use anodized metal.- 5W laser is a bit underpowered for cutting thicker materials or engraving at high speed. Great for hobby use, but not industrial level. As shown in the pics uploaded, it handled detail well - engraving the "LONGER" logo on wood came out clean and crisp. I also decreased the cutting speed and increased power to 100%, and I managed to cut out a plywood and engrave a cartoon cat on the same wood. Great results for the price and laser power delivered.Overall: If you're new to laser engraving and want something affordable but capable, the LONGER 5W is a smart buy. Just know its limits with metal and thick materials.

JUNK!
So many problems right out of the box:1. Can't attach the control module because the left mounting screw collides inside the frame with a screw to hold the frame together. Had to come up with a 1/4" spacer for that screw. Absolutely no way this problem would not be apparent for anyone assembling this unit.2. The attach method for the belts is extremely "mickey mouse".3. There are no travel end stops on the X axis, even though the screw holes are there. But it wouldn't matter. The Laser head hits the microswitch on the Left about 1 1/2" before it would reach the limit screw. Nothing to stop it on the Right...no stop and no switch.4. There ARE limit stops on the Y axis, and the front one you have to install during assembly (it's just a screw). But I don't know why. Again, the moving parts hit the microswitch about 1 1/2" before the stops screw, AND...the Laser head hits the front frame at the same time that the microswitch is hit.5. Powering up, the controller sees the Wi-Fi with a strong signal. But it won't connect, returns no error, just goes back to the starting point. ALL of the usual possible reasons for this were tested, and nothing fixed it.SO....about 2 hours of tedious assembly will be followed with similar amount of time to send this junk back.

Fun and Surprisingly Useful ‘Toy’
I bought this smaller laser engraver just to try it out — kind of as a “toy” for DIY fun. But wow, it turned out to be way more capable than I expected!Thinking back to all the money I spent at the market on those beautifully engraved cutting boards — I always thought they were hand-carved and paid a premium. Turns out, most of them were laser-engraved! Now I can make my own at home and save a ton.The setup was easy, the touchscreen is handy, and it’s been a great intro to the world of laser cutting. Highly recommend if you’re curious and want to get creative!

Left with a lot of questions and hard to find answers.
This does not come with a computer software. I am still trying to find a software that works with it. At this point I can't say I would recommend it.
