Works good, fast results
I had planktonic algae on the surface of a pond on my property that had been present for about 8 weeks. Being new to the property I didn't know if this was a seasonal thing that would self-resolve or if I needed to address the problem. After 2 months of having the algae with no end in sight I purchased a gallon of Pond Champs 11700 Algae X. I calculated the square feet of the pond surface and estimated average depth to determine how much product to use. In my case the pond needed 50oz. I applied the product with a pump sprayer as far towards the center of the pond as I could reach and circled the pond. The next morning it looked like there was less algae than the previous day when I applied it but I decided that was probably just wishful thinking. Turns out it wasn't. In 3 days the algae was completely gone and so far the wildlife in the pond seems to be completely unaffected. I should have used this product sooner. I have enough product left over to treat the pond again if necessary, so that's about $20 per treatment. If I'd called a "pond guy" to take care of it I'm sure the cost would have been much higher.

Not For Fish
When I bought the product it said fish friendly. When it arrived it had a big warning "not for goldfish or koi" I felt these are fish. Now I can't return it, so what do I do with it?

If "poly" doesn't work, try this!
This is the only product I've found that works on the filamentous algae in my pond. My pond has two waterfalls, and has good shade, but it still grows filamentous algae like crazy. I tried two polyoxyethylene dichloride variants, and neither seemed to do anything.
