BEST reading glasses I've ever owned!
These multifocal progressive glasses are exactly what I have been looking for. I am an author and I sit at my computer many hours each day. I wear contacts for distance vision but they leave me with little closeup vision. These Foster Grant glasses are perfect for me. I bought the 2.0 power version, which gives me 2.0x at the bottom, 1.5x in the middle, and 1.0 at the top. I look over the top of the glasses to see in the distance. There are no lines in these progressive lenses to interrupt my vision. I simply have to tilt my head up to get stronger magnification. The 1.0x part of the lens lets me sit from one to three feet away from my computer monitor, with perfect vision for writing my books. As I glance down at the keyboard, the 2.0x portion kicks in and makes all the keyboard keys nice and sharp. If I hold something up to look at it at arm's length, the 1.5x area makes arm's length vision very sharp. The progressive areas are wide enough to work well, without edge blurring. The quality of the frames and hard plastic lenses are exceptional, easily as good as any prescription glasses I've purchased. The hinges have the expansion springs that let you spread the frames apart without breaking them while you are putting the glasses on. The springs hold the glasses snugly against my face without squeezing too much. There is a mild tint on the lenses that seems to remove a touch of blue, warming up what you see a tad. Probably good for night reading. The full-size nose pieces are very comfortable and are adjustable by bending. For the price, these are the best reading glasses I have ever owned. I highly (and I mean highly) recommend these for writers, computer programmers, or anyone else who has to sit at a computer all day and needs a little magnification to aid aging eyes. I'm going to buy an extra pair of these to keep for the future, in case this particular frame style is discontinued some day. Great job, Foster Grant!

Love the glasses, but hate the nose pads on the newer models
About a year ago I bought my first set. Loved them. But as time goes glasses tend to get a beating, so I ordered a new set. That's when things were not the same.On the new set, the nose pads keep falling off. Embarrassing when this happens when I'm at a restaurant trying to view the menu and I am staring at the floor to see if I spot where one of the nose pads landed. On my older set, this never happened. So I compared them under a strong light and magnifying glass, and I quickly spotted the difference. The difference is that they changed on how the pads sit on the bridge. On my older set, they use tiny screws to keep them in place. On the new set they are no longer using screws. They are simply snap-ons.So now you gotta be extra careful when using them. Because if you lose the pads, well your nose will be against metal. Why they changed the design is beyond me. So this is why I give them now only 2 stars.UPDATE:Amazon sent me a new pair, and guess what? Those have the nose pads with screws like my older set. So now it's great again! Increasing it to 4 stars.I dunno why there are two different versions of this model: Foster Grant Men's Sawyer Multifocus Rectangular Reading Glasses - but if you get the ones with snap-on nose pads, get rid of them. See if you manage to get the ones with screws on, those pads will never pop off. Good luck!P.S. What I did notice also a change that these two different versions came wrapped in bubble plastic and the glasses were inside a zipped plastic bag. Where I recall my first set a year ago or more -- it came in those sealed plastic cases -- so I don't know why the package quality has also degraded.

Good w/minor drawback
I recently purchased multifocus reading glasses, and overall, they work well for their intended purpose. The ability to switch between different magnification levels is quite convenient and suits my needs. However, one drawback I've noticed is that there's a noticeable glare when I use them during the day, which can be distracting and affect my reading experience. On the positive side, this glare is much less pronounced when I use the glasses at night. In terms of durability, I haven't really put the scratch resistance of these multifocus reading glasses to the test because I handle them with care. However, it's worth noting that they haven't shown any visible scratches so far, which is a positive sign.Regarding comfort, while I've had lighter glasses in the past, these multifocus glasses are not uncomfortably heavy. I can wear them for extended periods without discomfort, making them suitable for long reading sessions. So, despite a few minor drawbacks like daytime glare, they are a reasonably comfortable and functional choice for multifocal glasses.
