It is a good quality shaver.
Very good price over the cost of standard wet shaving. First time out a bit rough still, however, you need to grow out a wet shave beard, then use it as it should be used. Perfect finish and smother than a standard wet razor. The Remington F7 is approx £42, the cost comparison over a year:Remington F7 no extra cost.Standard wet razor blades £195.50 on current prices for a5 blade top brand. No contest. Remington wins and you get a smooth shave at no extra cost. Highly recommended, be patient and save quickly. Easy to charge, Very efficient shaving at cheaper cost and just as good as any wet shaver. But this one does both..best of both worlds.

Overall good
Replaced a previous Remmington. Good overall but do NOT buy for the LED display of remaining charge time. This is erractic & jumps from eg 35mins to 20, 52 to 40 during a 5 min runtime! However it does give ~ 60mins runtime overall. Just dont rely on the display! My main bugbare is it can only be charged in its cradle, which is very flimsy & unlikely to endure much travelling without damage, then you'll be knacked! Why can't they also have a connection on the shaver itself like previous models so you can still charge whilst travelling without taking & risk damage to the flimsy cradle! Makes no sense!

A good all rounder with a couple of foibles
A foil shaver works best for me so I have gone back to one having used rotary for years. Remington has quite a good name and this is a mid-range machine in the Remington portfolio. The shaver foils give a good close shave and pretty quickly hoovers up all the bristles. So far so good. However, the battery could last a bit longer I feel and when putting it on charge you need to double check that it is connected otherwise you could come back an hour later to find that it has just been sitting there without getting on with the job. The foil protection cover comes off far too easily. That is a design fault. The shaver comes with a cleaning brush but do not let the brush go anywhere near the foil. It will ruin it I promise you and the temptation is great because the bristles collect at the ends. To clean the cutting heads etc no doubt Remington will have a cleaning fluid costing a small fortune for a few milliliters but I knock out most of the debris and give the heads a couple of squirts of 99% isopropyl alcohol. You can buy a litre of the stuff on line for less than £10 and can use it for 101 other jobs such as giving a squeaky clean finish to your camera or phone, computer, CDs, torch lens, the windows of your house etc. I am told it is also good for cleaning delicate equipment such as electronics but I have not tried that.

Good quality shave
Best electric shaver that I’ve had. Took me back to the 60s when I remember dad using a Remington.

Remington Shaver
After using the shaver on a fully charged battery it shows a low battery although you can continue to use. Battery indicator is not reliable. The shaver is not as good as my previous Remington shaver. If honest I’m very disappointed

Fast and close, and the right price
A*. Well done Remington! This is a reasonably priced razor (£49.99 here on Amazon) which shaves both fast and close. But that's not all; the travel of the foil over the skin is really smooth, which was a welcome novelty. The build quality is excellent and it just looks great too, not to mention the nice digital battery display. This is a top quality product, excellent on all the important points. I could deduct half a star for the stand and the way the charging cable protudes from the side (it sticks out a long way, see picture), but hey, at least it's got a stand (many don't), and it's a folding stand too if you happen to need that feature. But these are minor points - this quality as this price deserves the full 5 stars.

Leaves you patchy
I bought a Remington F7800 seven years ago for £40. I’ve replaced the foils once, and it’s been excellent. The only reason I bought this Remington F8 is because the pop-up trimmer on the F7800 has started to not engage and so doesn’t trim. So, I looked for Remingtons with similar features, surely it’d just be a matter of replacing like for like and it’d all work the same, right? Wrong!I looked though the various F series Remingtons, and nearly went with the F7. But the F7800 has a digital display that shows how many minutes are left on the battery, which I’d always found really handy, but the F7 doesn’t have this. I decided it was worth the extra £10 and spent £50 on the F8, which basically matches the F7800 in terms of features - waterproof, dual foils, pop-up trimmer, digital battery display. Now, everyone has different routines for shaving, for me I just do it once a week - my job doesn’t require a clean shave every day and my wife likes some stubble, so it suits me to just shave the week’s build up on the weekend. I’ve seen some reviews for different shavers that complain when a shaver can’t handle a full beard, which just seems unrealistic to me - I use the trimmer to trim everything down, and then clean shave with the foils. The F7800 handled this for 7 years no problem. The F8, however, was just AWFUL. The trimmer did its job fine, trimmed everything down to what should have been a manageable length for the foils. But when I tried to shave everything off, the foils just couldn’t manage it. I went over and over for ages, but it left several patches of hair that it just couldn’t clear no matter how hard or lightly I pressed. I thought it might just be a fluke on first use, waited another week, and tried again the following weekend, but nope - same issue. Patches all around my neck and jawline where the foils just did nothing. Eventually I had to dig out my old F7800 to finish the job (which it did with no trouble - so my face is not the problem here!).So that’s the reason for the 1 star review. The other features of the F8 are great, but if it can’t shave my face properly then it’s not fit for purpose, and I’ve since returned it for a full refund. I guess I’ll have to hunt for something else, as Remington clearly are not up to the standard they once were.
